Privacy, stated plainly
Last updated July 1, 2026
OpinionOracle is an independent research effort. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect and what we do with it. We would rather be direct than sound reassuring, so here it is without the hedging.
The survey is anonymous
The nine survey questions collect no name, no phone number, and no email. We store your answers, a timestamp, your browser's user agent string, and the page that referred you. None of that identifies you personally, and we make no attempt to connect it back to a specific person.
Email is separate, optional, and never linked to your answers
The last survey question offers to email you the findings. It is optional. If you enter an email, we store it in a table that is deliberately kept separate from your survey answers. The two are never joined. We cannot tell you which set of answers a given email belongs to, because we built it so that we can't.
Any email you give goes through double opt-in. We send you one message asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent until you click that confirmation. If you never confirm, you never hear from us again. When we do publish findings, we email them and nothing more, and every message includes a way to unsubscribe.
The advertising pixel, disclosed
This site loads the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising pixel. It sets a cookie and reports your visit to Meta. We use it to build a retargeting audience so we can put this research in front of more real estate professionals through advertising. That is a normal marketing practice, and we would rather name it than bury it.
The pixel is tied to your browser and Meta account, not to your survey answers. You can limit this through your Meta ad settings, your browser's cookie controls, or a content blocker. Doing so does not affect your ability to take the survey.
Who is behind this
OpinionOracle is an independent research effort. We sell nothing on this site. The purpose of the research is to understand what real estate agents actually want from technology, and to make those findings useful to the people who build tools. If and when products get built on the back of this demand, they are built and sold elsewhere, under their own names, not here.
Data retention and your rights
We keep aggregated, anonymous survey data indefinitely, because the value of the research is in the aggregate. If you gave us an email and want it removed, or want to know what we hold, contact us and we will take care of it.
